Pellow Roofing gains Bauder accreditation

Established in 1857, Bauder has grown to be a leading international manufacturer of building materials. It now operates in 26 countries, delivering waterproofing and insulation solutions alongside photovoltaic installations and green roofs to private and commercial clients.

With a strong ethical and environmental outlook, Bauder has a programme of ongoing process improvement in order to reduce waste and emissions. This together with other measures has helped them to gain an ISO5001 Energy Management accreditation.

As part of its ethical and sustainable outlook Bauder focuses on providing solutions that “fully understands all the individual issues of the project and answers the needs of the client.” Systems are installed by approved contractors, helping to ensure the delivery of high quality installations.

Pellow is pleased to announce that we have gained Bauder accreditation in respect of:

  • Bauder Bituminous Systems
  • Thermofol Single Ply System
  • LiquiTEC Roof System
  • Liquid Balcony System
  • Intensive Green Roof System
  • Extensive Green Roof System

Not only will this enable us to install roofing systems on behalf of Bauder it will also provide our clients with additional roofing options, thereby helping us to ensure that the product chosen best meets the requirements of the project. For example the Bauder Thermofol Single Ply system is suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects, whether the roof structure is warm, cold or inverted. Single ply rooming membranes may be light, coming in at 2-3kg per square metre yet the Bauder membrane is still strong and durable; with good fire and climate resistance.

The liquid roof and balcony systems also have good temperature resistance, something which may prove useful if the summer carries on as it has started in 2020. With a fast curing PMMA resin, these products also offer excellent adhesion to a range of surfaces and are solvent, isocyanate and halogen free. With good root resistant properties a liquid roof or balcony system can also be one solution for green roofs.

However, when it comes to green roofs it is also important to choose the system to match the likely use. Extensive green roofs which are unlikely to be accessed on a regular basis may well require a different solution to that of an intensive green roof or roof garden which is open to regular access. And even here the solution should be designed to match the layout and likely use of the space. For example, contrast a terraced space with container planting above paving or decking with a soft landscaped area with trees, grass and plants.

We are looking forward to building our relationship with Bauder, enabling us to offer an enhanced range of waterproofing solutions to the people and businesses of Cornwall.
