Repair or replace

It may be said that we live in a throwaway society but when it comes to expensive items such as cars or our properties the challenge is always to repair rather than replace. However, there are times when we have to acknowledge that something has passed beyond economic repair and a replacement is required.

That was the scenario facing Holley Autobodies in Taunton. As the largest independent bodyshop in the Taunton area, Holley Autobodies are “passionate about delivering the ultimate in customer service”. Their expertise in repairing both cars and light commercial vehicles has gained them the BSI Kitemark standard for vehicle repairs; focusing on the five key areas of people, methods, materials, equipment and process management.

But when the roof of their bodyshop started to fail Holley Autobodies recognised that in order to continue to deliver great repairs for their customers it was time for the roof to be replaced, all 1600m² of it. Recognising our expertise in working with large scale projects they called on Pellow Flat Roofing to carry out the replacement work.

The agreed solution came from Danosa; a provider of waterproofing solutions which we at Pellow know well and use often. In fact Danosa was also the chosen solution for a previous large-scale roofing project at Old Vicarage Place in St Austell. The sixth largest manufacturer of waterproofing materials in Europe, Danosa offers a wide range of waterproofing, acoustic, and thermal solutions. As you would expect Danosa solutions meet current building regulations but their commitment to sustainability also leads them to look for continuing improvements in delivering environmental solutions, preventing pollution and optimising resources. Their philosophy sets people, quality and service at the heart of their solutions; making them a good match for the Holley Autobody requirement.

Danosa solutions can be applied to a wide variety of roofs and roofing types from garden sheds to industrial premises.  As a flexible solution Danosa products are particularly appropriate for factory and workshop roofs where weather sealing may be required around vents and other outlets.
