Cold Applied Liquid Waterproofing
When you think of the advantages it is no wonder that cold applied liquid waterproofing systems are proving increasingly popular for a range of Cornish new building and restoration projects. Versatile and extremely flexible, the liquid nature of these coatings means that they will form a seamless barrier on even the most complex of structures on private or commercial properties.
Cold Applied liquid waterproofing solutions are generally made of polyurethane/resin and when used on walkways and balcony areas include a skid-inhibitor for added safety. The products can be applied over a variety of surfaces including asphalt, felt, concrete and even steel. This makes them ideal for flat roof repairs where, provided the underlying structure is sound, the waterproofing layer can often be applied directly on top of the old surface.
But cold applied liquid waterproofing systems are also in demand for new build projects from balconies and roof tops to floors and even car park roofs. With a range of colours and the addition of chips to add texture to the surface, this system is flexible and versatile.
Other advantages of Cold applied liquid waterproofing systems include:
Cost
Because Cold Applied Liquid Roofing can be applied over a range of surfaces and has a fast curing time, repairs can be carried out in minimal time. As these coatings approach the end of their useful life, an application of a primer followed by a single coat can prolong the life of the surface for a further period. Guarantees range from 10-20 years.
Versatility
Liquid application not only provides a seamless surface, it also brings smooth coverage in areas which have complex shapes or protuberances. This makes this product particularly useful on non-domestic flat roofs or where guttering or stepped roofing require flexibility of roofing cover. When a rougher or non-slip surface is required, the addition of chippings can provide good non-slip protection.
Safety
With a cold application there is no risk of fire on application. In addition, the nature of the polyurethane material makes it ideal for use as a floor covering in areas where hygiene is of the essence, such as in hospitals or food preparation areas.
We work closely with architects and builders to design the optimum solution and can provide suggested roof plans for any scenario.
