Introducing WestWood liquid waterproofing

At Pellow Flat Roofing we are always on the lookout for technological improvements and products which enable us to offer top quality waterproofing solutions to the people and businesses of Cornwall.  With this in mind, we’ve recently completed the training course which enables us to be accredited to offer WestWood liquid waterproofing products alongside our existing range.

Founded in Germany in 1999, WestWood is now an international organisation bringing liquid resin technology to a range of waterproofing projects.  PMMA resins have successfully been used in a wide range of waterproofing and surfacing projects for over thirty years and their use is growing as products develop.

Because the basic resin is colourless, the addition of pigments or chips can transform the basic material into a versatile and eye catching waterproofing solution.  The result is that traditional ‘grey’ flat roofs can now be coloured or decorated in a variety of patterns.  But although flat roof coatings may be the first thing which we think of when we talk about waterproofing technologies, it is not the only application.

True, cold liquid systems are perfect not only for new builds but also for refurbishments and repairs but they also have a great variety of other uses.  With the addition of chips and pigments, patterned balconies and walkways can be created with good non-slip properties.  Other uses include car parks, roadways, swimming pools and industrial flooring.  For example, by varying the colour mix, car park flooring can be created with bays and directions already marked out as an integral part of the waterproofing surface.  The WestWood website carries photos of some of the more usual and unusual applications.

Hard wearing, with good solar resistance and longevity, cold applied liquid waterproofing is perfectly positioned to help builders and developers create safe and durable surfaces.  From outdoor arenas to flat roofs and balconies, liquid waterproofing comes into its own when design calls for an attractive yet functional solution.  As the WestWood website says “Our systems come into their own where conventional systems meet their limits.”
